Chong Sheng Tang - integrating the best of Chinese and Western medicine

Looking for an alternative medical treatment for your dog/ cat? Try traditional Chinese medicine and therapies! According to Traditional Chinese belief, we are interconnected with nature and affected by its forces. The body is seen as an organic whole in which the organs, tissues, and other parts have distinct functions but are all interdependent. Health issues and diseases are related to imbalance of the functions. TCM treatments aim to cure problems by restoring the balance of energies and enhancing overall wellbeing.

With a history of tens of thousands of years, TCM and Chinese therapies are proven to be successful in treating illnesses in animals too, written in Chinese literary works like Shennong’s Materia Medica and BoLe’s Classic of Needling/ Acupuncture.

Based on the philosophies behind Traditional Chinese medicine, all illnesses are caused by an imbalance of vital energies inside the body, such as body dampness, Yin deficiency, Yang deficiency, blood deficiency, Qi deficiency, and others.

The method of TCM diagnosis is composed of inspection, auscultation and olfaction, inquiry and palpation. It enables our practitioners to comprehensively assess the health conditions of your pets, which can otherwise be difficult because unlike us, they cannot articulate and tell you what is wrong.

One of the most common Chinese therapies used on animals is acupuncture because results are impressive. It is believed to be able to tackle most kinds of health problems by stimulating ‘acupoints’. These ‘acupoint’ connect to different parts of the body via meridians, pathways through which energy flows within the body.

Besides relieving stiff muscles and easing joint pains, it is also extremely useful in treating age-related health conditions, particularly skin problems, cardiac diseases, and endocrine diseases.

The procedures are pretty much the same as that for humans. With attention and care, our acupuncturists will gently insert very thin needles into specific ‘acupoints’ on your pet’s body. These needles will stay in for 15-20 minutes to stimulate circulation.

Our acupuncture treatment typically consists of 4 weekly session. They may be complemented by electroacupuncture, acupressure massage, far-infrared therapy, or other TCM treatments if necessary.

To ensure that your furry companion is receiving safe and high-quality therapy, our acupuncture sessions are performed by licensed vets with internationally acupuncturist qualifications.

Hip & Joint Care

Some breeds are more prone to hip and joint problems than others. Strain injuries and degenerative joint diseases induce pain and mobility challenges, and even affect animals' appetite and sleep. In these cases, we would recommend trying acupuncture and Tui-Na massage on your pets.

Senior Pet Care

A happy and healthy life is all pet-owners want for their furry companions. We offer Chinese dietary therapy and herbal supplements for pets, to help them cope with aging, improve their appetite, energy level and immune system.

Palliative Care

Pain and reduced appetite are common side effects of animals suffering from cancer, as their bodies weaken. Besides using acupuncture to ease pain, we also use herbal medicine to improve stomach functions and strengthen the digestive system.

Nourishing Health & Wellbeing

Prevention is the best cure - one of the fundamental concepts of TCM. Ancient physicians believed that prevention was better than cure and health preservation was the best method for prolonging one's own life.
